Listed as one of the “9 Wineries to Visit Before You Die” by Sip Magazine, Spring 2019, Sea Star Vineyards and Winery is nestled within the forest of picturesque Pender Island.

The 26-acre terraced vineyard stretches to the summit of Mount Menzies and bathes in the whales’ breath of the Salish Sea. Within this idyllic setting, you may be lucky enough to spot our resident ‘lawn mowers,’ four baby doll sheep, wandering between rows of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Reisling, Ortega, Marechal Foch, Schonburger and Siegerrebe grapes.

Here, and at our vineyards nearby at Clam Bay, we grow varietals for our award-winning signature estate wines, including the consistently recognized Blanc de Noir and Ortega.

The beauty of the property is reflected in the classic West Coast architecture of the Sea Star Winery building. An almost seamless transition between forest and winery occurs as natural light envelops the cedar and stone details of the tasting room. A feeling of warmth and calm will wash over you as you sample the only thing that rivals the esthetics of the winery: the wine.

An experience to delight the senses, visitors to the winery are invited to take a bottle to an outdoor table where you can sip Sea Star’s delicious wine and take in a view of the surrounding forest and vineyard. In the summer months a local food truck is on site creating savories that pair exquisitely with Sea Star’s wines.

If you are someone who has travelled extensively or simply explored our beautiful corner of the world, “Sea Star Vineyards is a place unlike any other” and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Viticulture

We create wines that suit our climate and our way of life – wines to be shared with friends and to enjoy with the food we grow, make and eat.
